Institutional Review Board
FRI provides initial protocol review and ongoing review through our Institutional Review Board (IRB), which has a Federal Wide Assurance (FWA 0002948) from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This Assurance formalizes FRI's commitment to protect human participants and is honored by all federal agencies.
Our knowledgeable and helpful IRB staff helps investigators through the often-daunting process of IRB review, and our dedicated and informed IRB members work hard to ensure the highest degree of protection to FRI's research participants.
In addition to IRB review, FRI is home to a strong human research participants protection program, responsible for training and educating investigators, research staff, and IRB members.
