Dr. Williams joined the FRI
Board of Directors in 2009. He served as a member of the
Institutional Review Board at FRI for the past six years prior
to serving on the FRI Board of Directors, and has spent more
than fifteen years working for large nonprofit organizations. He
has also served on numerous other nonprofit boards, committees,
and taskforces.
He currently serves as the Director of Research at the Society
for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world’s largest
association of HR executives and an organization that focuses on
providing advice on and solutions to workplace and business
issues. Dr. Williams is a member of the senior management team
at SHRM, and is primarily responsible for the organization’s
domestic and international research activities, products, and
services. He also serves as a company spokesperson on best
business practices, frequently appearing in several media
outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, Associated Press,
Washington Post, New York Times, and several television news
stations. He has also provided his expertise to U.S. government
agencies such as the Department of Labor, EEOC, and Government
Accounting Office.
He has spent several years working directly with and conducting
training for business leaders such as CEOs, CFOs, HR executives,
and other business leaders in areas such as compensation,
employee benefits, HR policies, emerging workplace trends,
recruiting practices, succession planning, and nonprofit
governance. His reach has extended beyond the U.S. to business
groups and delegations from China, India, Brazil, and the United
Kingdom. He has also authored publications on these and other
topics.
Dr. Williams previously worked as a consultant for Johns Hopkins
School of Medicine for four years, and has held management roles
at nonprofit organizations such as the American Society for
Association Executives and the American Psychological
Association. He is currently certified as a senior professional
in human resources (SPHR) and has been trained as a clinical
psychologist for which he is currently licensed. |
