Message from the President
 “Every
great advance in science has issued from a new audacity of
imagination.” So said John Dewey in The Quest for Certainty. FRI enables scientists to focus on
pursuing their imagination through important research endeavors.
Since 1955, FRI has successfully managed the administrative
details, back-office functions, and work of research, giving
researchers the freedom to devote all of their time and energy to
their scientific investigations.
Over the years, our growth has been steady and our mission has
expanded. We currently manage more than 250 biomedical and
behavioral projects nationally and internationally.
As President of Friends Research Institute, I recognize and
appreciate the importance of this freedom for researchers, and I
am proud of FRI’s commitment to providing a safe, friendly place
for researchers to discover this “new audacity of imagination”
free from the constraints of administrative details. I am also
proud to report that we do this work, expertly, efficiently, at a
low cost…and with a thoroughly experienced, professional and
dedicated staff.
The information on our website offers you a look into FRI’s bold
vision and how we make it a reality. I am confident that it will
