Brief Biography Mr. Bogan began his association with FRI in
1968 by signing on as a counselor at Coolridge House, a
quarterway house for opiate addicts. The treatment modality was
intensive psychotherapy (psychedelic psychotherapy) for
approximately 12 weeks for each resident admitted to the program. His next association in 1970 was to become the Director of Dismas
House, a halfway house for Opiate Addicts and the treatment
modality was Operant Conditioning or Token Economy. In 1972 he
was requested to coordinate a Naltrexone project for FRI, a
research project focusing on adolescents with a history of opiate
abuse. In 1974 he became the Director of Epoch Counseling Center,
an outpatient treatment facility for young people with a history
of poly drug abuse.
In 1988 Mr. Bogan was requested by the Board of Directors to
become the President of FRI. He has
played a pivotal role in the growth of FRI, which currently
administers close to 200 projects nationally as well as
internationally. During this relationship with FRI, he has also
been an instructor at George Washington University for 14 years
in its summer education programs and has served on several Boards
focusing on mental health issues.
