City of Los Angeles approves $2,663,910 funding for Safe House a
demonstration project to provide housing to HIV-positive people who have a
mental illness or chemical dependency; project funding to begin in 1997
and end in 2002May 1, 1997
Rehabilitation of Safe House location begins

Safe House welcomes its first residents in emergency, transitional and
permanent housing April 26, 2001
Safe House project approved for an additional year to continue its housing
programs until 2003; additional funding of $147, 452 granted to Safe House

Safe House is featured in the Los Angeles magazine Frontiers

First annual residents' needs assessment held at Safe House; residents
express gratitude for stable housing and support and share suggestions on
