Research Interests

Ms. Crable completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at American University in Washington, DC, double majoring in Anthropology and Journalism. During her undergraduate training, she focused on how biological, cultural, and social elements influenced experiences of health and illness.

At FRI, Erika will be assisting Drs. Gordon, Kinlock, and Wilson on a NIDA-funded Seek, Test, and Treat study addressing HIV in the criminal justice system. The study involves conducting a randomized control trial in which probationers and parolees will receive rapid HIV testing. A second randomized trial will examine the linkage to HIV care for HIV positive individuals in community corrections. Ms. Crable is excited to be assisting on this project and believes that this study will aid in improving the lives of individuals with HIV.
