Research Interests

Dr. Wilson’s research interest is in the area of health disparities plaguing African American and other minority communities. More specifically, Dr. Wilson is interested in issues related to gender differences in risky behaviors. Dr. Wilson is currently the Director of Data Management at the Social Research Center. She is also the site Principal Investigator for a NIDA funded research study entitled "The Effects of Manualized Treatment in a Seamless System," whose purpose is to assist offenders in adopting a crime-free, drug-free lifestyle, and to increase the probability that they will successfully complete supervision. In addition, her other research interests include HIV/AIDS and risk behaviors among adolescents. Dr. Wilson is a member of the American Public Health Association and a recipient of a 2007 NIH Health Disparities Loan Repayment Award.
